Episode 240: Twisted Metal Black

A more serious note than usual here, we got a new mixer for this podcast and made some mistakes in using it. The audio quality is significantly lower than normal, especially for the first couple of minutes. It gets better after that, but never goes away entirely. If you have sensitive ears, we recommend listening without headphones.

Episode 223: Star Wars Shadows of the Empire

Ah the 90s. A time of good old fashion fun, baggy jeans, pouches, extreme sports, and for some reason, people not being sure whether or not Star Wars can make money. Spoilers. It can. It can make so much money. Even on the Nintendo 64, long before the Solo film, there were the adventures of Dash Rendar. These are his stories.

There’s always something wrong with Mars. Whether its the lack of air, the demons, the poor work conditions, or just being sought after by Elon Musk, the red planet always means trouble. And usually means first person shooters as well. If you want to fight for a better mars, join the Red Faction. Just don’t be surprised when it all goes bad in the sequel.

Evolution is a beautiful thing, but the things it produces are not always beautiful. Finally, we get a game that answers the age old question": “Why are bugs?” Also, sweet jelly-dolphins? You know what the world needs? More "stairs". We're back with the second installment of the beloved Dragon Questior franchise, now featuring party members! Step, once more, into a somewhat generic plot, and follow our inexplicable begoggled heroes on a dangerous quest to become the warriors of light and vanquish the forces of evil. What I will give this game is a lack of fetch-quest-for-plot, and it does have a delightful princess "rescue" scene. How will it fare in the fields of Ranking, though?! Follow Nathan "Definitely-Not-A-Belmont" Graves through traps and travails with us as we dive into the first mobile Castlevania!

Episode 226: Mega Man III

More grey lemons than you can toss a game brick at! Apparently all the gameboy games are Rockman World, making me wonder why all the GB ports of games are their own worlds. At any rate, join the Man Mega on his quest to overthrow the somewhat confusing hodgepodge of bosses from 3 and 4, and to the final castle. Also, suddenly appearing monsters over pits and just-barely-taller-than-your-shortest-jump-ceiling-spikes to pad out the gameplay!
