Episode 202: Castlevania Dracula X

The last game of our remake-themed month, this one's... special.  Once again, Ryu Anime Belmont dons his dramatic gloves and whip and sets out to save the inexplicably ninja Maria, who refuses to help him this time.  This is, really, a wholly different game than Rondo of Blood, but does it hold up on its own?

Whip right to that download.

Never before have we seen this much metal in so few slugs!  Actually, thinking on it, there aren't actually metal slugs in this game; they all seem to be energy pellets of some sort.  At any rate, there are now working graphics, tons of "vehicles", and a number of playable characters.  The same Metal Slug quirkiness, now sequelier and more functional!

Samus is back!  To celebrate that (though mostly because of this month's theme), we're revisiting the first real Metroid remake: Zero Mission.  The team learned a bunch of things from Super Metroid and haphazardly applied them to the original game.  What results is an odd, but relatively solid, of bad map design and progression and reasonable controls.  Fun!

Episode 197: ADRIAAAN Is In Another Castle [Secret Command]

There comes a time in every actions star's career when they get to be a big enough name, that someone is bound to make a videogame based on the movie they were in.  In order to get the jump on other developers, some companies decided to just make the game, and apply licensing post-hoc.  As it happens, this tends to not make for the greatest games.  So, run through the jungle with us as definitely-not-Mr.-Stallone wades through hordes of bland and forgettable enemies to... do a thing?  Maybe aliens?

Episode 186: As Exciting As A Post Office [Postal 2]

When everyone around you is a terrible person, sometimes the only option is to respond in kind.  Or patiently wait in line, but that takes forever.  In a game whose tagline was ""Remember, it's only as violent as you are!", it's really only as violent as you are patient.  Seeming to take most of its cues from the, at the time, much more controversial "ban all video games" political scene, this game attempts to poke fun at people whose morals need to be applied to everyone but themselves and...  Well, that's it, really.  Everyone else is collateral.  Have fun!(?)
